Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of https://shotkit.net and the shotkit API ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use it on behalf of a company, you agree for that company. Questions: hello@shotkit.net.

Your account

You need an account to use the API. Give accurate details, keep your password and access keys secret, and tell us if you think someone else has them. You're responsible for everything done with your account and keys, including by members you invite to your workspace. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

Plans and payment

The Hobby plan is free, with the limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices don't include taxes, which are added where they apply.

You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from the billing page. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for and isn't renewed. Payments aren't refundable, except where the law says otherwise. We may change prices, but changes only apply from your next billing period, after we've told you.

Each plan has a monthly screenshot quota and a per-minute rate limit. When you reach them, requests fail until the limit resets or you upgrade.

Acceptable use

You're responsible for the pages you render and for what you do with the output. Don't use the service to:

  • break the law, or infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights;
  • access pages, accounts or systems you aren't authorized to access, or get around paywalls or access controls you don't have the right to use;
  • capture or distribute illegal content, malware, or content that sexually exploits minors;
  • attack, overload or probe the service or the sites you render, for example by sending traffic meant to disrupt them;
  • resell the service as a standalone screenshot API, or share one free account's quota by creating several.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, after warning you when we reasonably can.

Your content

You keep all rights to what you send us and what the service renders for you. You give us permission to process it only as needed to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Rendered files are stored only until they expire.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service fast and available, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every page will render correctly. We may change or remove features; if a change significantly reduces what a paid plan offers, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time, and ask us to delete your account by email. We may end these terms or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break them, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we'll give you reasonable notice and refund any prepaid period you can't use.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For significant changes we'll tell you by email at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
